Public Comments Covid-19 Update - Starting July 6th, Woodview will begin a gradual re-opening of some locations to be able to support clients and families with scheduled face to face appointments

To ensure everyone’s safety, the re-opening of buildings will be a phased-in approach and in line with the province’s re-opening plan

Clients and families will continue to have the option to visit in-person for an appointment or to continue to receive support by phone or video

At this time visits, in-person groups, camps, and school programming will not be available until further notice

Clients and families will receive program-specific information from their worker

The agency continues to receive referrals from families and other agencies through the centralized access mechanisms and supports individuals on the waitlist

Drop-in clinics in Brant are now virtual "walk-in" counselling services To book an appointment with a Woodview counsellor call 519-752-5308 ext 0 or text 226-920-4427 to receive an appointment via phone or OTN. In-person sessions are available at some locations

- Wed 9 am-2 pm - children, youth up to 18 years and their families

* Brant Mental Health Solutions

* Woodvew in the Square

- Thu & Fri 4 pm-8 pm & Sat 12 noon-4 pm - children, youth up to 18 years and their families

Description (Service) Counselling services aim to support children/youth and their families by:  
* addressing identified needs and challenges 
* strengthening awareness and understanding of the challenges and why they might be occurring 
* reducing the severity of mental health problems or symptoms 
* strengthening coping strategies,and reducing the need for more intensive services 
Counselling services can be provided for children and youth experiencing:  
* changes in mood swings or suddenly feeling anxious, sad, tearful, worried 
* problems at school: with learning performance, peers and/or classroom behavior; sudden changes in daily patterns 
* difficulty sleeping or staying asleep or problems with appetite 
* an increase in physical complaints: stomach ache, headache, not feeling well 
* behavioural changes: excessive anger, acting out (hitting, fighting, extreme tantrums, stealing); bedwetting 
* decreased interest in previously enjoyed: hobbies, foods, activities 
Counselling services are open to all, but priority is given to children and youth with serious mental health concerns such as harm to self and/or other including suicidal ideation/attempts and/or hospitalization  
The program offers: 
* individual and family counselling  
* parent education and support, individually or in groups 
* therapeutic groups for children and youth 
* case management and referral to other services 
* TAPP-C (The Arson Prevention Program for Children) assessments, in partnership with Brantford and Brant County Fire Departments 
* distance counselling via telephone or video conference
