Public Comments Covid-19 Update - Front line protection services remain available at all times to ensure the delivery of essential services.  
All urgent child protection concerns are to be directed to the main phone line 519-753-8681.  
After Hours protection services remain in place from 4:30 pm to 8:30 am through the same line.  
 
The office itself is open for visitor access by appointment only, unless the matter is of an urgent nature. Staffing has been reduced to minimum levels on site, so that most staff can continue to work from a home office base.  
Current Pandemic plans are in place. Face to face visits are only held by appointment, after screening, and with PPE in place. Some services are being offered via virtual means where possible. 
 
The Agency has a webpage dedicated COVID-19 https://brantfacs.ca/covid-19-resources/ where the community, parents and children can access information and resources as they become available online.

Description
Description (Service) Nonprofit agency mandated under the provincial legislation of the Child, Youth and Family Services Act to help protect children from abuse and neglect by caregivers. 
 
In many situations families can be supported through early intervention. Some families refer themselves to Brant Family and Children's Services because they would like support and service for their family.  
 
In other cases relatives, friends, teachers, public health nurses or doctors who suspect that a child may be at risk of abuse or neglect, refer families. Sometimes the court may refer them.
