A charitable foundation founded in 1990 by Norman Clements in memory of his granddaughter Jennifer, who passed away from a rare degenerative illness before her first birthday. This charity addresses gaps witnessed firsthand: families sleeping in cars, facing eviction, or choosing between food and transportation to the hospital. He founded JenAsh to help families bridge that financial gap in times of unimaginable stress

In order to be eligible for support, all 7 qualifying criteria must be met:

1. A major medical event has occurred with the child
2. The event requires the child to be admitted to the hospital for a minimum of two weeks
3. This event is greatly impacting the family's routine and finances AND additional expenses are related to this event
4. Total gross household income (Line 15000 on Notice of Assessment) must be $80,000 or less
5. Child is an Ontario Resident
6. Child is a permanent resident or Canadian citizen
7. Applicant child must be 18 years of age or younger. Eligibility runs up until the child's 19th birthday

The assistance is directed to low-income families across Ontario caring for a child in hospital. The charity works to ensure that families have the financial, emotional, and physical means to care for their child during a medical crisis

The charity assists children (18 years and under) by covering out-of-pocket expenses not funded by OHIP—travel, accommodation, equipment, therapies & emergency household costs
