A range of culturally informed positive mental health promotion and wellness programs and services
- prevention and intervention approaches are applied to support and engage Indigenous children, youth aged 0-18 and their families
- combination of programs and services aim to support healthy physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual wellness and development through holistic and evidence-based approaches while including language, culture, and a connection to the land as part of their service delivery
Programs include:
- Youth Life Promotion Program - provides children and youth aged 0-18 with support related to mental health wellness, suicide and mental health crisis prevention, and programming grounded in culture, language, and a connection to the land
- Children's Mental Health and Addictions Program - offers intervention-based programs and services focused on providing timely and tailored mental health and addiction support to Indigenous children and youth aged 0-18 in their communities. Providing direct assessment, stabilization, intervention, treatment, and supportive programs across the continuum of care assists in addressing the needs of clients and reduces barriers affecting access to mental wellness services
- Indigenous Community Program - and Indigenous Community Worker provides culturally appropriate programming for youth aged twelve to seventeen (12-17) in the Brantford area who are in or at risk of involvement with the justice system. Youth and families are supported through a wrap-around service model that includes collaborations with service partners to address concerns related to the justice system, education, employment, and other components of health, wellness, and healing
- Student Counselling and Support Services - the Student Counselling and Support Worker (SCSW) connects with students in junior kindergarten to grade eight attending the five (5) federal and two (2) private schools on reserve directly in the school environment. The program delivers social and cultural programming as well as services including crisis response, assessments and safety planning, brief counselling, and advocacy for educational resources to children, youth, their families, and the school communities to support academic success, healthy development, and overall well-being
