Description

Description (Service)

Assists adults and teens with physical disabilities throughout the Haldimand-Norfolk area to lead meaningful and independent lives

Independent Living Services offers:

  • Outreach Attendant Care Program provides in-home scheduled visitation; rising and retiring routines, bathing, dressing, personal grooming, and transferring/positioning * Assisting with bowel and bladder routines, assisting with range of motion exercises * Light meal prepared if necessary
  • Low Acuity Outreach provides light to moderate attendant services assistance with daily living activities (rising/retiring, personal hygiene, meal preparation) to persons in their own home
  • Proprietary Attendant Care offers scheduled attendant care on a fee-for-service basis
  • Volunteer and Fundraising Services recruits volunteers to participate in fundraising and on various committees


Although the Haldimand-Norfolk Outreach Program office does not administer the following Ontario March of Dimes programs, staff can connect you with the appropriate contacts if interested in the following services:

  • Employment Services provides employment support services to persons with a disability; providing job placement and supported employment programs to individuals who encounter barriers to employment. Assessment offers individualized vocational assessments to provide adults with physical disabilities with the information needed to develop a vocational plan
  • Recreation Program: Camps are located in central Ontario. The site is accessible and campers enjoy attendant care when required. A variety of experiences and organized activities are available
  • Home and Vehicle Modification Program offers assistance to persons with a permanent disability, with assistance of up to $15,000 toward the cost of vehicle or home modifications required due to their disability
