Description
Description (Service) Provides multidisciplinary rehabilitative therapy to patients with chronic pain with the goal of improving quality of life and facilitating a return to regular daily activities * helps people learn aspects of their path and life they can control when a cure for the pain is not possible  
 
Concepts taught: 
* learning to differentiate between acute and chronic pain 
* minimization of pain behaviours 
* relaxation  
* minimizing and eliminating the use of analgesic pharmacotherapies (including narcotics and over-the-counter drugs) 
* daily exercise 
* moderation 
* stress management techniques 
* coping with the emotional aspects of chronic pain 
 
The core team of health-care professionals who care for patients includes nurse practitioners, nurses, occupational therapists, and social workers
