A Community Food Educator (CFE) is a volunteer certified to provide education to the community on a variety of topics related to healthy eating and safe food preparation - available to teach community groups how to select, prepare, and store healthy food

Program offers educational sessions to the community in the form of:

• presentations
• food demonstrations
• cooking classes
• information booths and more

Community Food Educators can work with the public to develop sessions that meet a group's needs

Session topics include:

• healthy eating
• Canada’s Food Guide
• cooking for one or two
• menu planning
• healthy eating on a budget
• how to read labels & compare products
• food preservation/canning
• food safety
• handwashing
• cooking skills
