Description (Service)
  • Superior Court of Justice - court services respecting civil actions, criminal actions, family actions, small claims court actions and Housing Tribunal enforcement
  • Ontario Court of Justice - court hearings for applications under the Family Law Act, Children's Law Reform Act, Youth Criminal Justice Act, Criminal Code actions, and other related legislation. Applicant/Creditors may enforce through the Court. Payments of criminal fines. No adult provincial offences are dealt with at this office. Must refer to Norfolk County (re: Highway Traffic Act charges)
  • Family Law Information Centre - designed for use by unrepresented litigants who need assistance with family law cases as they relate to court processes. A duty counsel lawyer will be available to assist them with any legal concerns. Assistance will also be provided with completing forms. Contact the courthouse to book an appointment
  • Justice of the Peace - duties include issuing summons, subpoenas, search warrants, swearing criminal code affidavits only and private complaints
  • Small Claims Court - for plaintiffs with claims up to $25,000
  • Enforcement Officer or Sheriff - available in Cayuga and Simcoe
