Description

Description (Service)

Rent geared-to-income housing for men and women living with a serious mental illness in Brantford and Brant County through various funding agreements with the federal or provincial government

Lyons Avenue - cooperative setting for 8 adults

  • staff are available to assist tenants to live successfully in the community
  • each tenant has a private, furnished bedroom and common areas are shared
  • tenants are required to share weekly chores
  • rent is geared to income according to the social assistance scale approved by the federal government


Phoenix Place - affordable one-bedroom and two-bedroom units for adults living with a serious mental illness, and who are homeless or at risk of being homeless

  • rent is set at the maximum allowed by Ontario Works or O.D.S.P.


Rent supplement units are available at a variety of locations across Brantford and Brant County through referral agreements with private landlords. Rent is the maximum shelter allowance set by Ontario Works or O.D.S.P., including utilities where applicable

Services include:

  • community support is available to all tenants in Supported Housing if needed
  • goal planning assistance
  • referral to other needed services
  • monitoring of symptoms and medications
  • advocacy
  • peer support
