Description (Service)

This office makes social inquiries on behalf of the criminal courts and supervises and counsel persons placed on probation and parole. Referrals are made from the criminal courts

Services include:

  • preparation of pre-disposition sentence reports assisting the court in the sentencing of criminal cases
  • supervision, counselling and enforcement of persons placed on probation or released on parole
  • Community Service Order Program - court-ordered alternative to custody or prison which requires the offender to provide a set number of hours of voluntary service to the community. Not-for-profit organizations requiring volunteer assistance contact Community Service Order Program Coordinator to arrange placement
